Zoe Saldana (born June 19 in 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana and Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. The actress was born in New Jersey, Passaic to Asalia Nazario and aridio Saldana. Her mother is Puerto Rican as is her father, Dominican. She and her family moved from Queens in New York, to the Dominican Republic when she was 10; they lived there for seven years. Zoe's love for dancing was piqued while they were in the Dominican. Zoe started her dance education through ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy.
